an early Spring?

We've had absolutely beautiful weather here this last week or so and we've really been taking advantage of it. Dash is big enough that I feel okay getting him out in the cooler weather. We've had sunshine and temperatures in the 50's (and sometimes 60's).
We've been going to parks, walking Edgar and throwing the ball for him, and enjoying having the shades open to let the sun in.

We're still really enjoying the church we've found and we've even set a date for Dash and Delaney's baptisms. May 16th at the 10:30 service.

Dash has really been enjoying the solid foods we've added to his diet. I've been roasting them this year for him. Last year I steamed most of her foods. The flavors seem richer and deeper. I've done bananas, apples, peaches, butternut squash, and sweet potatoes. We've worked our way up to two solids a day and he's a big fan :)

Delaney and I had a girls night out last night. We left the boys at home and went to a mexican restaurant down the road.

After dinner we went to Baskin Robbins and had some quite tasty ice cream!

We are officially under a month until Delaney's second birthday. We had a great idea for her friends party, but then we got two invitations for parties with the same theme. So.. I've got an idea for a party, but until the invitations go out, I'm keeping it under wraps!

Until then, we love you all :)

ummm. It's February??

When did it get to be February?? And it's halfway through February???
Okay, so maybe we've been a little busy. We've been rearranging the house, getting rid of clutter and working on some early spring cleaning lately. At night, we're just pooped.
I do have some new pictures though.

Our new favorite Saturday activity is taking the Lacey bus down to downtown Olympia, walking a lot, snagging lunch and shopping, then walking some more and heading home. Delaney is loving it. Today in the car, when we were heading to toddler gym, she said "more ride bus?". I hated to tell her no :)

Zap and I love watching the thrill she gets out of the bus. She just lights up. I think one reason is that she's in a moving vehicle and not in a carseat.

Dash has started to come out of that newborn stage. He's starting to interact with Delaney and she loves making him giggle. Today I came into the car to find Delaney playing peek-a-boo with him and the two of them laughing hysterically.

For Valentine's Day, we spent the morning eating delicious banana pancakes (heart shaped) that Zap made and heading to church for the first of our Baptism preparation classes for the babies. We love the church community that we've become part of and I feel strongly about having the children baptized. After church, we came home for naps and headed directly back out to our friend Christa and De's for a monthly potluck they host. Delaney loves being at their house and she is so comfortable. She and their son Murphy have become good friends.

Delaney has been enjoying playing on playgrounds lately and the weather has been unseasonably warm so we've been taking advantage of it. She's able to use the one in our neighborhood by herself (SCARY!) and today at the park, she used the "big kid" playground and did the twisty slide all by herself as well.

For Valentine's Day, I got Zap and "family love" gift. Using a photobox and index cards, I labeled a card for each day of the year and put them in order in the photobox. (I did use tabs to separate them). At dinner time each night, we write down our highlight of the day. For Dashy, right now we're writing milestones he achieves and for Delaney we're giving her choices and letting her pick her favorite. I think it's going to be a really great family tradition.

I'll work on being a little better this month. In two days, we will be under a month until Delaney's second birthday. I'm still sorting out how I feel about that.

So Happy Belated Valentine's Day..

Love to all
